As part of this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg, our national day of creativity for children and young people, Cork International Film Festival is thrilled to offer a free programme of Festival short films that will excite, inspire and delight! Method, dir. Polly Holland (ages 5+)

All Square Boi wants is his cuppa and he’s willing to face insanity for it.

 

Fisherman, dir. Narae Kim, Lewis Barfoot (ages 5+)

‘Fisherman’ follows the story of a young girl’s journey to reconnect with her ancestral heritage.

 

The Reckolahesperus, dir. Mary Smyth (ages 5+)

Sam’s misunderstanding of what his mother says leads him to have quite an unexpected adventure!

 

Forest, dir. Dermott Burns (ages 7+)

A reflection upon humanity’s ignorance of its destructive nature.

 

The Girl at the End of the Garden, dir. Bonnie Dempsey (ages 12+)

A slapstick comedy about an unhappy young girl whose life is turned upside-down when she finds a mysterious runaway with psychic powers in her back garden.

 

134, dir. Sarah-Jane Drummey (ages 12+)

On the day of a regional Irish dancing competition, an Irish couple struggle to cope with their child’s gender identity.


Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.
