    CIFF’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 Programme


    Cork International Film Festival is delighted to present a FREE lineup of Festival short films from Ireland and Europe that will inspire and delight as part of this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg, our national celebration of creativity for children and young people.

    Immerse yourself in a handpicked selection of enchanting short animations and live-action film gems along with a chat with ‘To Be What We Are’ director Claire Murphy and CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony!

    There is limited availability so book your free tickets now. After this content becomes available on Saturday 15th June at 9am, you’ll have 12 hours to start watching. Once you begin, you’ll have 30 hours to finish watching.

    To Be What We Are

    Young Traveller children at the heart of the project explore play and creativity and what happens when you follow your imagination as it transforms into a dinosaur and then starts to run.

    Life isn’t equally sunny for all: Karl, a tree less fortunate than the trees around him, finds a chance for social acceptance in a fallen mango. But thanks to a cheeky little monkey, Karl realizes what truly makes him happy.

    The desert critter casts the shadow of a palm tree. No other animal had such an annoying shadow. Can you exchange it? Desert Critter is a film about the search for one’s own identity. But also about friendship and where we can find it.

    Enyo is a brave and daring warrior determined to bring her dead mentor back from Hell. In her quest, she meets Cerberus and befriends him.

    Apocalypse Dog

    In a post-apocalyptic universe, Bob and his dog Pasha survive in desolate lands. They are hungry, thirsty, and tired. Suddenly, they spot a city in the distance!

    Dede is Dead

    Directed by Philippe Kastner

    Death of a beloved pet is a difficult thing to deal with, and even though we try to prepare for it, it always seems to come too soon. This is the story of a boy and his dog Dede, who passes away suddenly and the boy is left alone with his grief. In the end, he finds out that just because Dede is dead doesn’t mean that she is completely gone.

    Symphony

    Directed by Ondřej Nedvěd, Vojtěch Komárek

    Little boy Martin has a visual disorder. He stays at home alone with his only friend – a magical toy called Francis, that helps Martin to explore the world. When he is invited to play football with the kids on the street he happily joins the game but nothing goes as the boy expected.
