CYPA (Children and Young People’s Arts) Project Coordinator
CIFF seeks an experienced and dynamic CYPA Project Coordinator to lead the delivery of its youth and education programmes in the lead-up to and during the 71st Festival.
This is a short-term freelance contract, ideal for someone passionate about arts education, youth engagement, and inclusive cultural programming. A review of the role and project will inform the future direction of our CYPA activities, with a view to adopting a longer-term approach.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator and have experience working with young people and the arts community.
Key Details
- Role Title: CYPA Project Coordinator
- Type: Independent Contractor or Short-Term Contract
- Contract Dates: July – December 2026 (approx. 5-6 months)
- Location: Cork (hybrid working considered, but in-person delivery required. Weekend work may also be included)
- Fee: In the range of €32,000-€35,000 pro rata
- Reporting to: Head of Marketing & Communications
- Key internal partners: Festival Director & CEO, Head of Development, Programming team, Administrator
- Key external partners: Cork Migrant Centre, filmmakers/workshop leaders, TY Coordinators/secondary school teachers, youth and community organisations, venue partners
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Look@Me project with the Cork Migrant Centre:
- Supervise filmmaking workshops in collaboration with CMC and workshop leaders – note workshops are held on Saturdays
- Manage logistics and hospitality for participants, mentors, and facilitators and coordinate travel with CMC
- Facilitate project evaluations and feedback collection
- Compile internal reports and analyse project outcomes
- Saturday work will be required during project delivery (July-August)
- Oversee pre-production and on-site delivery during the Festival
Schools 2026 Programme
- Liaise with CIFF Programming and IFI Education to create and publish 2026 Festival schools programme online/emails
- Manage outreach and communication with schools
- Coordinate bookings and group logistics
- Liaise with venues and manage screening schedules
- Oversee on-site delivery and audience management during the Festival
- Manage surveys, feedback and reporting
Intinn 2026 Programme
- Support refresh of Intinn programme – updated films, workshops and resource packs
- Manage outreach and communication with schools
- Coordinate bookings and group logistics
- Liaise with venues and manage screening schedules
- Oversee on-site delivery and audience management during the Festival
- Manage and deliver in-person Intinn events and online delivery
- Manage surveys, feedback and reporting
Aeráid programme
- Manage outreach and communication with schools
- Research, book and liaise with speakers
- Plan and execute the “Gathering” event during Festival
- Coordinate bookings and group logistics
- Oversee on-site delivery and audience management during the Festival
- Manage outreach and workshops
- In collaboration with Digital Marketing Officer, create microsite for project ideas from students
- Manage surveys, feedback and reporting
CineSpark 2026 programme
- Manage and deliver Next Generation and Transition Year Atticus (careers in film) workshops
- Support programme creation in partnership with IFI Next Generation, Atticus, and CIFF – TBD
- Manage outreach and communication with schools
- Research, book and liaise with speakers
- Coordinate venue, bookings and group logistics
- Oversee on-site delivery and audience management during the Festival
CYPA communications and audience development
- CYPA Outreach and Audience Development – contribute to and support communication strategies targeting under-25s via schools, youth groups, and education partners
- The Coordinator will also support the marketing team in capturing content from CYPA participants (vox pop videos etc) for use across digital platforms and future CIFF development pitch decks.
Other CYPA activities:
- Devise and deliver 2 youth filmmaking workshops in collaboration with First Cut! Youth Film Festival for CIFF 2026
- Support delivery of ancillary activities associated with the Family Programme for the Festival
- Support the Young Programmers and Youth Jury (managed by the Programming Team)
- Support the recruitment of third-level interns and supervise the work of the Education intern
Post-Festival Reporting
- Lead on compiling and analysing evaluation data
- Write final reports on engagement, outcomes, and impact (templates will be provided and guidance on report requirements for different funders/partners)
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience working with young people in an arts, education or community context
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience delivering multi-partner programmes or events
- Experience in film or media arts
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- A commitment to inclusion and youth voice
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team
- Confident, friendly, and adaptable
Desirable
- Understanding of Irish secondary education system (e.g. TY programmes, Leaving Cert Drama, Film and Theatre Studies)
- Familiarity with project monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- Digital content creation or social media management skills

Cork International Film Festival (CIFF) is welcoming expressions of interest to join its Board in 2026. CIFF is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Board members are Trustees of the charity, and are responsible for the governance of the organisation. Their primary duties focus on strategic planning, financial oversight and policy development. As a governance board, directors are not involved in programming or operational matters, which are delegated to the Executive.

Cork International Film Festival is Ireland’s first and largest film festival and one of Cork’s most significant and popular annual cultural events. The Festival is a local, national and international celebration of cinema, running annually in venues and online in November. Award-winning films from the international film festival circuit, new discoveries, and cinema classics are selected by our experienced curatorial team to premiere in cinemas in Cork and be screened online via the Festival Digital Platform, available to viewers nationwide.

What do our Board members do?
The Board of Cork International Film Festival is responsible for overseeing the strategic development of the organisation, ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place to manage any risks to its operation and success. The Board also looks to:
- Ensure the organisation’s activities align with its established vision, mission and values
- Engage in strategic planning and the setting of annual goals and priorities
- Provide support and high-level oversight to the Executive
- Financial oversight and internal controls
- Support fundraising through shared access to networks
The Commitment of our Board:
- Prepare for, attend and participate in approximately six board meetings a year and our annual Board Strategy Away Day. Meetings are scheduled in advance for the year to enable maximum attendance (in person and online)
- Act as an ambassador for Cork International Film Festival in the community and open their network to encourage wider engagement and support
- We encourage our Board to fully engage in the Festival and our year-round events
Term of office:
Directors serve for a term of three years and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
Qualifications:
The CIFF Board members have a diverse array of professional skills and experience. We are currently interested in candidates with senior-level experience in:
- the Legal sector
- Film Industry (domestic and international)
- Business Development (fundraising)
- Cork Business/Civic representation
- Tourism & Hospitality sector
- Previous not-for-profit Board experience is also desirable
