Palestine 36 is a gripping account of a critical moment in Palestinian history, when Palestinian villages revolted against British colonial rule in 1936. Having been under British mandatory control since the 1920s, tensions flare over the future of the territory, and Yusuf navigates between Jerusalem and his rural home. Alongside Irons, the stellar ensemble cast includes Hiam Abbass, Kamel Al Basha, Yasmine Al-Massri and Liam Cunningham. The film opens in Irish cinemas on October 31st.
Booking via Arc Cinema Cork opens soon.
Documentary Gala
Shoot the People, Friday 14th November 20:15, The Everyman Theatre.
The Documentary Gala at Cork International Film Festival 2025 is Shoot the People, directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Andy Mundy-Castle, and screening on Friday 14th November at the Everyman Theatre. Mundy-Castle follows Oscar®-nominated and hugely popular British-Nigerian photographer and activist Misan Harriman, as he documents contemporary protest movements around the world.

The first Black man to shoot a cover of British Vogue, Harriman examines how protest and organised movements can lead to social change, all while capturing the resilience of activism through his lens. An inspiring, gripping film that delves into the intersectionality of movements for equality, civil rights, and social justice, and the power of collective action.
The Irish Premiere will be followed by a conversation with Misan Harriman and director Andy Mundy-Castle.

The Voice of Hind Rajab, Sunday 9th November 17:00, The Everyman Theatre
Also announced is the Irish Premiere of the internationally critically acclaimed The Voice of Hind Rajab, directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, on Sunday 9th November at The Everyman.
January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A six-year-old girl is trapped in a car under Israeli fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.

The film received a record-breaking 23-minute standing ovation and won the Silver Lion – Grand Jury prize at the Venice Film Festival in September 2025. Directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, whose two previous film experiments earned her Oscar® nominations, The Voice of Hind Rajab uses the full recording of Hind’s call as a devastatingly uncompromising approach to telling the story. This screening is presented in association with Amnesty International.
