Join us online this Saturday for Cruinniú na nÓg with a shorts programme featuring animation and live action films and a special director Q&A. Late submissions are now open for CIFF’s 70th edition this November, the final chance to premiere your film at Ireland’s largest film festival.

We’re also excited to announce IGNITE-Docs LASAIR, a new Irish-language documentary initiative launching in August 2025. Plus, volunteer registration is open, and you can now nominate CIFF for the AIB Community Fund to help support our year-round work.

Cruinniú na nÓg

Join us online this Saturday, June 7th for Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of free creativity for young people. Immerse yourself in a handpicked selection of enchanting short animations and live-action film gems along with a chat with director Bonnie Dempsey and CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony.

From heartwarming tales of unlikely friendships to surreal adventures and playful imagination, these bite-sized gems offer something for audiences of all ages.

This free programme will be available online on June 7th from 9am – 9pm.

Late Submissions Deadline

Don’t miss your chance to be part of Ireland’s largest film festival. Cork International Film Festival is now accepting late submissions for its upcoming 70th edition, running from Thursday 6th to Saturday 16th November.

We want to premiere your film in Cork this November and this is your final opportunity to showcase your work on an international stage and be part of a vibrant celebration of Irish and international cinema. All genres and formats are welcome, from shorts and features to documentaries, animation, and experimental film.

IGNITE-Docs LASAIR

Cork International Film Festival & Docs Ireland are pleased to announce a new element to the IGNITE-Docs talent development programme, a training/mentorship opportunity to nurture filmmaking talent in developing and production of documentary short films in the Irish Language. Four projects from new and emerging filmmakers will be selected for LASAIR 2025 with full details to be announced in August 2025 on the CIFF website.

IGNITE-Docs LASAIR is a collaboration between Cork International Film Festival and Docs Ireland. Supported by TG4, the Arts Council of Ireland, Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Cultural and Creative Industries Skillnet, Coimisiún na Meán, Northern Ireland Screen, and Arts & Business NI.

Docs Ireland runs from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th of June, the full programme is available here.

VOLUNTEER AT CIFF: As part of Volunteer Week the CIFF team attended Cork Volunteer Expo and it was a pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic volunteers ahead of our 70th edition this November. Volunteer registration is now open and we would love to hear from you, you can find all volunteering information on our website.

NOMINATE US: Help us continue to bring world-class cinema and education programmes to Cork and beyond. Cork International Film Festival is eligible for the AIB Community Fund, and your nomination could make a big difference. Nominations are open until Wednesday 25th June and you can nominate CIFF here.
