May News: CIFF Regular Submissions Deadline Soon

May 20, 2025 |
News

This month, our programming team is heading to Cannes Film Festival on the hunt for the freshest, most exciting films to bring to Cork this November. Meanwhile, the Regular Submissions Deadline is fast approaching. Submit by Friday, 30th May for a chance to qualify for the Oscars® through our three Academy Award®-accredited categories.

And there’s more on the horizon: we’ll soon be announcing volunteering and seasonal job opportunities as we gear up for our most ambitious Festival yet. Stay tuned to forthcoming newsletters and follow us on social media to get involved.

Regular Submissions Deadline

As November draws closer, our programming team is busy watching all submissions and preparing to visit Cannes Film Festival this week. Our Regular Submissions Deadline is Friday, 30th May and we encourage you to submit your film to be in with a chance to premiere at our milestone 70th Festival.

This year, CIFF will present the prestigious Audentia Award, a €30,000 prize presented in partnership with the Council of Europe’s Eurimages Fund, supporting a female filmmaker’s next project. In total, we present 15 awards, including three Academy Award®-qualifying categories for short films, giving your work the chance to gain international recognition and take the first step on the road to the Academy Awards®.

Forthcoming Opportunities

The Festival wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our incredible team of over 110 volunteers. Their time, energy, and passion help create a welcoming and vibrant experience for audiences, filmmakers, and guests.

As we move towards delivering our 70th Festival (6th – 16th November), the CIFF team will exhibit at the Cork Volunteer Expo in Millennium Hall on Wednesday, 28th May. Join us there to learn more about how you can get involved as a volunteer and play a role in delivering this year’s landmark edition.

In addition to volunteering, we will soon be recruiting for a range of seasonal roles across all departments to help bring our most ambitious Festival to life. Keep an eye on our website, newsletter, and social media channels for forthcoming job opportunities.
