Rules and Regulations

Categories For Entry

Entries are invited in the following categories: Feature Films Documentaries (Documentaries must be Irish Premieres.) Short Films We welcome all forms of film production – animation, experimental, student work, digital work, etc.

Conditions For Entry

The following screening formats are eligible for inclusion: 35mm, Beta SP (PAL only), Digibeta, DV, MiniD, DV-cam. Films should not have been previously screened in Ireland – in cinemas or on television. Films should be presented in their original versions with English language subtitles or commentary where necessary. To be eligible for the short film competitions, films must have been completed since July 1st 2008 and be 30 minutes or less in duration.

Non-English Language Films

Un-subtitled preview copies of non-English language films must be accompanied by an English-language dialogue list. To qualify for selection, all non-English language films must have an English-subtitled screening copy available.

How To Send Your Film

a) Entries should be submitted on DVD for pre-selection.
Entry Deadline: International Entries: Monday July 2nd, 2012
THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE.
Please note that we cannot acknowledge receipt of entries and we do not return preview tapes/discs.

Shipping Prints/Tapes

If selected, prints must arrive at the festival by [date to be announced] or, by prior arrangement, prints may be delivered by hand by the filmmaker. Please mark the aspect ratio of the film clearly on the can / box of your screening copy. The cost of shipping prints to the festival must be met by the sender. The festival will pay for one-way return shipping of prints only. All prints will be returned during the week following the close of the festival. By prior arrangement, prints can be forwarded to another festival immediately after Cork. We do not pay screening fees for films submitted to the festival.

Insurance

All prints will be insured for the period that they are in the festival’s possession. In the case of loss or damage during this period, the festival is only responsible for the replacement value of the print. Only prints in perfect condition for projection will be accepted under these conditions.

Selection Results

A full list of selected films will be available on Corona Cork Film Festival’s website from [date to be announced] .

Using extracts of the film for promotion

The entrant agrees that up to three minutes of their film may be used by Corona Cork Film Festival in promotional activities including screening a clip on television and on the festival’s website.

Acceptance of these regulations implies that you will abide by them in your dealings with the festival and also that you are legally entitled to submit this film for consideration. You are also obliged to deliver a screening copy of the film to the festival office by the required date, should the film be selected.

Located in Fitzgerald’s Park the Cork Museum houses a collection of some of the memories of Cork’s commercial, political, historical, ancient history, old glass, coins and general local memorabilia. It also hosts a Michael Collins exhibition and items relating to Thomas MacCurtain and Terence McSweeney, two martyred Lord Mayors of Cork.
