Call For Entries 2012
Irish short films nominated for Oscars 2012

Jukka-Pekka Laakso (Jury), with winner of the 2010 Best Irish Short Film Pentecost, Director Peter McDonald & Diane Anderson (Jury)
A big congratulations to Peter McDonald, director of ‘Pentecost’ which has been selected in the short film category of the Academy Awards, or Oscars as we prefer! Peter won the Best Irish Short Film Award in 2010 with this film, so at least 1,000 Corkonian film fans will already have seen and enjoyed this lovely comedy. Well done to the Irish Film Board who selected the project for funding, and it is a wonderful return on the investment in Irish filmmaking to have this film compete on this international scale. We look forward to the big ceremony!
Congratulations also to Terry George, director of the Northern Irish short film ‘The Shore’ nominated in the same category, fabulous! Take a look here at the trailer for the film:
Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival and Market

Often referred to as the ‘Cannes’ of the short film world; Clermont Ferrand is the worlds’ most important short film festival and market. With the support of Culture Ireland, Cork Film Festival co-hosts the Irish Short Film Stand with the Irish Film Board, January 30th to February 4th. Promoting Irish talent and new short films is top of the agenda, and of course, scouting for new films to bring to Cork in 2012.
