Films At Fitzy’s
We have teamed up with Cork City Council and Events at Fitzgerald’s Park to bring you Films At Fitzy’s – the first of its kind in Cork which takes place on the lawn pavilion of the iconic Fitzgerald’s Park on the August bank holiday weekend, during the short-lived but warm and wonderful nights of summer. Outdoor cinemas are a quintessential outdoor event, with feature films lighting up the screen from dusk. Cinema-goers are encouraged to dust off their picnic blankets, foldable chairs and bean bags to come enjoy some of their favourite films under the stars.
Tickets are on sale now here. You don’t need to collect physical tickets, just print off your confirmation email or show it on your smartphone or tablet on your entry into the park. Tickets will also be available to purchase on the gate at each screening, subject to availability. Entry is €5 per film with a weeklong, with a Films at Fitzy’s Season Pass costing €25.
For group bookings please contact our office on 021 427 1711 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Gates open at at 19:00. Films will start shortly after dusk at about 22:00. For those who want to grab the best seats we recommend that you come early!
**Please note that the park will be closed earlier than scheduled to accommodate our screenings. Also note that films will finish late each evening which might effect those bringing children or using public transport.**
What to bring:
We don’t supply seating so cinema-goers will be encouraged to dust off their picnic blankets, foldable chairs and bean bags to come enjoy some of their favourite films under the stars. We also recommend wrapping up with a few layers as even the warmest summer days get colder in the evenings.
Children are more than welcome to attend screenings, but please remember that all films carry certificates to advise on suitability.
Food and Drink:
Various stalls will serve up a delicious range of street food, snacks and beverages nightly. Note that alcohol is not permitted on the premise.
Tackling Irelands unpredictable weather will be a consideration for the event. We will be keeping a close eye on Met Eireann for the most up to date weather forecast which will be relayed via social media in the lead up to each screening.
