BODYSUIT OPENING CEREMONY

The Black Mariah is pleased to present Bodysuit Opening Ceremony, a one-person exhibition of the British artist David Wojtowycz in Cork. Bodysuit Opening Ceremony is a permutation and sequel to IRUTTURI, shown at September Gallery in Berlin in March 2010.

Wojtowycz has created an environment inspired by film sets, something like an incomplete double chamber which could be in the process of being assembled or dismantled. The structure provides a cross between empty performance space, ceremonial room, hall, squat or space for initiation where the initiatee remains absent. Loudspeakers built into the shared wall between the two spaces provide the soundtrack to the scene one for a film that was never made or finished.
