  • Colossus or Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

Renowned Irish artist Paki Smith came to prominence as part of the resurgence in expressive figurative painting. Similarly, his filmmaking showcases his idiosyncratic style and off-beat humour. Colossus or Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream continues in this rich vein and sees Smith further embracing sweeping narratives along with an innate sense of personal identity. His work has been described by The Irish Times as ambitious, brilliantly visualised, and delivered with great flair, and this screening of Colossus or Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream presents an ideal opportunity to witness Smith’s wonderfully realised creation.
