This spirited film charts the inspiring rise of the Congolese band, Staff Benda Billili. From their challenging backgrounds; their love of music brings them together. Rehearsing daily at Kinshasha zoo; we get to know each member; and in one case, see his progress from shy child to accomplished musician. Band leader Ricky has a dream, to make them the best in the Congo. Roger, a street child, wants to join this band of polio-affected street musicians on their customised tricyles. Together they avoid the pitfalls of the street, stay united and eventually, greet international success.With scenes of musical inspiration, and much humour; this film is a joyous testament to a special band and the power of music.
