This programme looks at the fascinating interrelationship between picture and soundtrack – specifically at how filmmakers have harnessed one medium to literally generate or influence the other. From audo visualisations depicting what sound can look like on screen, to graphic shapes used to create soundtracks optically, this selection focuses on some of the ingenious results achieved through experiements with analogue technology.
