    Tariq Teguia

    Algeria, France | 2008 | 140mins | Colour | Colour | Subtitled

Malek is a reclusive topographer who takes on a job in western Algeria in order to extend the electrical grid. Arriving in the area, he finds it decimated by fundamentalists and is soon forced to flee. With a minimalist approach to dialogue, Teguia has created a mesmerising cinematic experience, worthy of Antonioni at his very best.
