With only his second feature, Alexis Dos Santos has created an exhilarating and toxic London, brimming with unfulfilled longing where rampant immigrants engage in lusty encounters with a momentous zeal. Axl arrives in London and soon encounters Vera who is eager to restore her faith in love. As the two independently orbit each other, their fates are inevitably intertwined. A romantic rollercoaster tale of the search for identity - and perhaps a shag or two on the way - the film positively fizzes with French New Wave-like energy, depicting a hedonistic life where there is a party and a surprise around every corner.
