Jim Jarmusch
USA | 2009 | 116mins | 35mm | Colour
The Limits of Control is the new movie written and directed by cult American filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. Set in the striking and varied landscapes of contemporary Spain, the film centres upon the story of a mysterious loner whose activities remain meticulously outside the law. He is in the process of completing a job, yet he trusts no one, and his objectives are not initially divulged. His journey takes him not only across Spain but also through his own consciousness. Taking influence from John Boorman's Point Blank, Jarmusch has crafted an enigmatic and highly stylised meditation on the male psyche.
