Based on an original story by Tim Burton, The Nightmare Before Christmas has been revamped in 3-D and audiences can now get up close and bone-rattlingly personal with the film’s cast of mischievous ghosts and ghouls
The story revolves around Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, Jack Skellington, as he encounters Santa Claus and the land of Christmas Town. The bone-thin Jack cunningly conceives a plan to take over Santa’s job in the coming year, though he can’t help but infuse the Christmas season with scares and spooks. His attempts to cross-pollinate Halloween with Christmas is inspiring, wacky, and rife with Burton’s gothic sensibilities. As with many of Burton’s misfits, Jack’s actions - such as kidnapping Santa and hijacking his gift-giving route - may be questionable, but his intentions are always sincere.
Part ghostly love story, part upside-down holiday celebration, and part toe-tappingly offbeat musical, The Nightmare Before Christmas was always multidimensional. But now, the classic film has been brought hurtling into the 21st century and transformed for a new generation to experience in Disney Digital 3-D™, expanding its legacy of innovation.
