The Corona Cork Film Festival announced today that the festival will be opened by Joel and Ethan Coen latest film No Country For Old Men which is the magnificent adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel of the same title. The Festival which takes place from October 14-21 will close with the screening of Lust Caution directed by Ang Lee and winner of the Golden Lion Award at the 2007 Venice Film Festival.

Featuring a star studded cast including Academy Award Winner Tommy Lee Jones, Academy Award Nominee Josh Brolin, Academy Award Nominee, Javier Bardem, Woody Harrelson and Kelly McDonald, No Country For Old Men is sure not to disappoint. The film tells the story of Llewelyn Moss (Brolin) who finds a pick up truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a series of catastrophic violence that not even the law in person of the aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell (Jones) can contain. The film will be screened in the Cork Opera House at 8.30pm on Sunday October 14.
The Festival will close with the screening of the much anticipated film Lust Caution. This new film from the Academy Award-winning director of Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a startling, erotic espionage thriller about the fate of an ordinary woman’s heart. Based on the short story by revered Chinese author Eileen Chang, it stars Asian cinema icon Tony Leung opposite screen newcomer Tang Wei. The film will be screened in the Cork Opera House at 8.30pm on Sunday October 21
