Tonight Is Cancelled
Kossovo, 2006. Aida celebrates her 25th birthday and wants to get married. A film director from Ireland, Donal, has arrived in town; he read a newspaper article about Aida and her boyfriend Edi and their extraordinary experiences during the war and wants to make a film about them. Aida warms to the idea, but Edi is not so sure.

As Donal’s presence throws a hard light on their lives we discover the cracks and lesions that even the most seemingly perfect romances are given to as their lives are played out against the constant backdrop of their past.

In beautifully elliptical passages of filmmaking, we learn about this couple and how the process of waiting and uncertainty has affected how they relate to each other. How one day after three years, Edi just walked back into her life.

This first feature marks the debut of a significant talent in one of the year’s best Irish films.
