Seachd

Scotland | 2007 | 90mins | 35mm | Colour | Subtitled |

The first feature film in Scottish Gaelic, shot in the Scottish Gaelic community was filmed entirely on the Isle of Skye off the west coast of Scotland. A beautiful adventure tale which combines layers of romantic folklore with the story of a young man on a quest for the truth behind the death of his parent and his grandfather’s ancient, incredible, fearful stories. This quest leads him to one of Scotland’s most treacherous mountains, The Inaccessible Pinnacle.
Làn fhìrinn na sgeòil - The truth is in the story.
Despite its seductive landscape photography and gentle, measured pacing, Seachd has a bracing boldness. - Edinburgh Film Festival |
