In The Shadow Of The Moon
My father was born shortly after the Wright brothers. He could barely believe that I went to the moon, says Charles Duke, who flew on Apollo 16 in 1972. But my son Tom was five - and he didn’t think it was any big deal.

For the first time ever, all surviving crew members from the Apollo missions tell their story in their own words. Only twenty-four people have flown to or around the moon, and their numbers are dwindling. Of the twelve who walked on the moon’s surface, only nine are alive today, and the youngest is seventy-one.

In the years after their travels, a few of the men struggled with depression. Some became environmentalists. Some turned deeply spiritual. But all share a deep bond, which they try to articulate as they recount their selection process, their training and the setbacks, most notably the tragic 1967 fire during a simulated countdown
that killed three astronauts.

Visually stunning original NASA film footage - much of it never seen before - is interwoven with riveting firsth and testimony. The result is an intimate epic that vividly conveys the daring and the danger, the pride and the passion of this extraordinary era in American history. - Sundance Film Festival

Exceptionally powerful…the most genuine uplifting experience you’ll have in a cinema this year.
