Cork’s port has always promised a safe harbour for ships but, thanks to improvements in technology and the dictates of commerce, both the landscape and the nature of the job have undergone significant changes, ensuring the old certainties no longer apply.
Patsy Quilligan, a docker, has spent over forty years working on the docks in Cork. This documentary brings us on a journey through this landscape, telling the stories of the people who have served it over hundreds of years, the mighty dockers, industry workers and the merchant traders.
This film will be screened with Rebel Underground
