This new documentary contains unpublished interviews and exclusive images tracing the paths of four important
films by Algerian filmmakers with different styles and genres. The difficulties experienced by these important films which were made during Algeria’s black decade - 1992 to 2004 - are explored in previously unseen footage. ‘Autumn, October in Algiers’ by Malik Lakhdar-Hamina, ‘Machaho’ by Belkacem Hadjadj, ‘Rachida’ by Yamina Bachir-Chouikh and ‘Douar Enssa (The Women’s Hamlet) which was filmed on a certain September 11th.
