Warp Anatomy of a Label

Warp Anatomy Of A Label | 85 mins
Saturday 14th | 9.00pm | Triskel
Pioneering independent UK record label Warp Records are notable for discovering some of the most enduring artists in electronic music and have been integral to the development of and home to some of the most visceral music video makers. The commitment to innovation is mirrored in Warp's visual aesthetic sensibility and the label has commissioned some of the decade's most memorable music videos and championed rising new talent. Founded in Sheffield in 1989 by Steve Beckett and Rob Mitchell, the label is home to artists who have become highly influential in shaping the world of electronic music. Warp Records focused on artist development, leading to long-term relationships with exemplars of contemporary electronica like Autechre, Squarepusher and The Aphex Twin.

In an innovative step Warp teamed up with Creative Review, also known for breaking new creators, with an open competition.
