Cocaine Angel

Scott isn't the most appealing character – most
junkies aren't. Each day sees him hustle for his next
fix yet despite his unkempt hair and cheap suit Scott
exudes no small amount of charisma. When he isn't trying
to keep track of his equally his strung-out girlfriend
Mary he's trying to keep it together long enough to
let his ex-wife allow him to see his daughter.
Cocaine Angel avoids the overblown mood of doom and
sordid glamour which pervades most contemporary drug
films. Despite its grimy look and milieu of people-on-the-margins
it manages to retain a sense of humanity and in Scott
it possesses a character who bears the slings and arrows
that life throws at him with a certain wry grace.
