Mocmoc, The Unloved Monument
Mocmoc, Das Ungeliebte Denkmal

Johannes M. Hedinger
Switzerland | 2004 | 44mins | DVD | Colour and Black & White | Subtitled

The crazy battle over the sculpture Mocmoc, by the artist duo Com&Com, split not only the community of Romanshorn but also large parts of the Swiss cultural scene.

In the end, a public vote decided whether the monument could stay or not.

From more than 400 media reports, dozens of interviews, and various archive materials emerges an astonishing and charming documentary film not only about Mocmoc himself, but also about the questions and issues surrounding contemporary art in public spaces.

Will be screened with The Temple Builder
