Defining the Short Film
When being asked what he thinks on short film, Canadian filmmaker
Mike Hoolboom answers: "short of what?" and brings an essential
question to the point: is the short form of film a genre itself?
My talk starts from the thesis that the short film form was always
connected with experimental or avant-garde film (or vice versa).
To exemplify this I will follow on terms like reflection, concentration,
condensation and shift.
