|
is an independent,
visionary, hybrid events and production company with nearing a decade
of experience in presenting, commissioning, exhibiting and distributing
new moving image work. This is the fifth year in which the Festival
has collaborated with this leading outlet for contemporary moving
image work presenting onedotzero's double whammy focus on Mike Mills.
Playtime and Memories explores Mills' ouevre of promos, shorts and
documentaries and nicely segues into our premiere of his eagerly
awaited debut feature film later in the week, Thumbsucker. Continuing
the music video focus the festival will present the latest in striking,
graphic music videos in the current edition of wavelength 05.
Thursday 13th | 9.00pm | Triskel Arts Centre
Mills' renowned fusion of illustration, graphic animation and digital
video styles mixed with strangely endearing choreographed pieces
and charming, loving characterisations add up to a never tiring
imagination of how to play with the conventions of music and life
in whatever form it takes. This body of music promo work shows distinctive
talent, style and taste and marks him out to be a truly great director
whatever area of moving image he turns his eye to.
