Wednesday 15th | 6.30pm | Kino Cinema
Originating in Italy, the ideas and philosophy of the Slow
Food Movement have spread across the world and it is now an
international movement with 77,000 members. 'Convivia' located
in all five continents are the lynchpins of the Slow Food
Movement and interpret and represent its philosophy at a local
level. There are 'Slow Food Convivia in both East and West
Cork.
The Slow Food Evening incorporates something nice to eat
from Café Paradiso and good wine supplied by Febvre.
Special Guest Stefano Sardo will introduce a screening of
the documentary Slow Food Revolution. Stefano from Bra, the
headquarters of the Slow Food Movement has worked as Press
Officer with the movement, devised 'Slow Food on Film' a short
festival dedicated to food and is also a member of the Artistic
Committee of the Bra Short Film Festival. He is a member of
our National Competition Jury. www.slowfood.com

Speed - the obsession of the modern world
- is determining what people should eat and
how. Traditional foods are at risk of disappearing
forever. An international eco-gastronomic
movement known as Slow Food champions the
protection of traditional culture, the environment
and biodiversity while encouraging regional
production, food education and pleasure. For
these passionate and dedicated food lovers,
sustainability, community and lifestyle are
as important as seasonality, quality and taste.
Beautifully photographed, Slow Food Revolution
is a celebration of this natural bounty -
a seriously sensual journey from earth to
table.
