Screened at the Cork Film Festival 1989,
The World Is Watching, revealed how media
agendas distorted news reporting during the
Sandinista / Contra period of the 1980s.
Now 14 years later, director Peter Raymont
returns with The World Stopped Watching. Journalists
featured in the original film return to Nicaragua
to explore what has changed since 1988.
This film examines what happens when a media's
spotlight leaves behind a country's people.
