Information on Sponsorship
Cork Film Festival is now seeking sponsorship partners to
enable the festival to achieve greater success this year and
through to the festival's 50th anniversary
in 2005, the year in which Cork assumes the European Capital
of Culture.
Information on the festival:
The festival achieves over 30,000 admissions each year, a
figure that continues to grow.
The festival attracts audiences, primarily from Cork region,
but also all over Ireland, from Europe and around the world.
The great majority of the festival's audiences are young
(18 to 40 year olds), educated and culturally aware.
In addition to screening over 250 films, the festival runs
various side-bar events including workshops, exhibitions,
book launches, lectures, parties, receptions, etc.
Cork Film Festival is regarded internationally as a friendly,
well-organised and socially active festival, where guests,
filmmakers and the general public interact, creating a vibrant,
friendly and entertaining atmosphere.
A programme for young audiences and families is run in conjunction
with the festival. This programme screens films suitable for
children across all age groups as well as providing educational
seminars and workshops for children and young people.
Media Coverage:
Cork Film Festival achieves significant coverage across all
media. Hundreds of editorial articles are devoted in the newspapers,
locally and nationally, every year to what is regarded as
Ireland's premier film event. The festival also enjoys
exposure on TV and radio with over 30 TV spots and 100 radio
spots, across all stations, guaranteeing coverage and exposure.
Television ads are run for two weeks prior to the festival
and during the festival itself.
Print media ads are published in the major national papers
and the local Cork-based media also. We also run advertising
campaigns in film magazines. The radio campaigns are also
very extensive, broadcasting on national and local stations
for 3 weeks prior to the festival itself.
Sponsorship Opportunities:
Cork Film Festival has many excellent and high profile opportunities
for sponsorship for 2003. All of these would grant a sponsor
wide exposure to the public through media promotions, festival
publications (catalogue, posters, flyers, etc.) website, sponsors'
board in the venues and at the screenings themselves.
* Individual Gala screenings including the opening
and closing films in Cork Opera House can be sponsored,
for example Name of Film" in association with
(your
company). The 1,000 seat venue with two bars is ideal
for corporate entertainment.
* There are also opportunities to sponsor a distinct programme
which can be named in association with your company, e.g.
The Digital Programme in association with
(your company).
* A series of screenings can be named in accordance with
your company e.g.
(your company) early evenings at
the Opera House.
Benefits to Sponsors:
There are other benefits, which your company would receive
in return for being associated with Cork Film Festival.
- Tickets for screenings, which could be distributed to
staff or clients.
- Your logo would appear in the sponsor's page in
the official catalogue and alongside the relevant films.
- Advertising in our festival catalogue can be accommodated.
The catalogue is over 120 pages on full glossy paper and
distributed to all guests, patrons, members, press who attend
the festival as well as being sent to many organisations
around the world.
- The festival can co-ordinate pre-screening receptions
for your company to entertain clients.
- There are also opportunities for screen advertising, which
can be accommodated at all of our three main venues. This
would be very exclusive advertising, as there are no other
advertisements shown before screenings during the festival.
- Company logos of our sponsors are displayed prominently
during the festival, both in our catalogue and at the venues.
Brand recognition is also available through our advertising
campaign in the national print, on our website and various
other fashions during the festival.
- Product sampling can, in most cases, be accommodated
at the venues.
- A link to your company website can be set up from the
film festival's website, which receives over 40,000
hits a year.
- On-line competitions and promotions can be run in conjunction
with the festival, which would direct patrons to your company's
website and increase exposure of your company to the consumer.
