European Coordination of Film Festivals
Cork Film Festival is a member of European Coordination
of Film Festivals
The
European Coordination of Film Festivals is a non-profit network
of over 200 film festivals based in 26 different countries.
We develop common activities for our Members through cooperation,
with the aims of promoting European cinema, improving circulation
and raising public awareness. Based in the heart of Europe,
the Coordination ensures that issues affecting the audio-visual
community are highlighted when the European Union creates
policy decisions. We are also concerned with the development
of our member's knowledge within the area of film; organising
conferences, seminars, and staff exchanges to broaden their
knowledge and contacts. For businesses wishing to join the
European Coordination of Film Festivals there is the 'Corporate
Membership Scheme' and for anyone with an interest in the
film community there is the European Coordination of Film
Festivals quarterly publication 'Eurofilmfest'. The European
Coordination of Film Festivals has produced a code of ethics,
which has been adopted by all its members, to encourage common
and professional practices. Since 2001 the Coordination have
presented a Jameson Short Film Award, in cooperation with
our partner, to filmmakers across Europe. Therefore promoting
not only the screening of European cinema but also the development
and creation of cinema in Europe. The European Coordination
of Film Festivals is a European Economic Interest Group (EEIG).
